Project Phoenix

On Saturday, May 26, 2012 My wife and I watched as my studio, 20 years of beloved tool accumulation and my livelihood went up in violent, wind fanned flames. As terrifying as the event was and devastating as the aftermath has been, I have been filled with gratitude. What could have happened but didn't was near miraculous; no one was hurt, our home was untouched, the 70mph gusts that spread the fire through our neighborhood shifted and eased at the right times to spare the six other homes the fire directly threatened and none of my work was damaged.

The biggest source of my gratitude has been the humbling and profound outpouring of love and support that has been showered on me and my family. Offers to help me get back to work came immediately and continue to come from the Moab/Castle Valley community, the broader art community, friends from afar and supporters of the Arts I have not even met

The Genuine desire to help people have offered us has touched me deeply, inspired me and given me a needed focal adjustment to my perspective.
